Religions Field Trip Reflection

the similarities between the hindu temple, chinese temple and the mosque, all of them have a symbol that signifies their religion. For example the hindus have a swastika, muslims have the crescent and the star and chinese have dragons. Also all of them have some sort of sacred writing that they use. A lot of things are placed where they are for a reason like there are pillars in the mosque to hold up the belief and there is a big wooden block on the entrance on the chinese temple so evil spirits will not be able to crawl over it. Hindus and chinese both use incents. Not all of them have statues to worship like hindus and chinese both have statues that they can give offerings to and worship. Muslims pray directly to god. Chinese and hindus have many gods, and each god has a special reason, like theres a god for wealth, a god for prosperity, and a god for health. A similarity is also that all of these religions value and respect their gods. And all of them have a god that they worship.
There are also many differences between these religions. The muslims only have one god, and they have no statues or figures that represent the looks of the god, they pray directly to him. They also have different ways of praying to the gods, in a hindu temple the swami bathes the god in milk and gives his blessing to everyone.
I think the most interesting was the mosque because it has meaningful designs and it varies from all of the other religions, it is plain, simple and nice. I find it interesting how they pray directly to god and do not have any statues like the hindu and chinese temple. Their religion is interesting and the way things are placed interests me also.

Auschwitz

I think what happened in Auschwitz was horrible. But, why did the Germans decide to run the holocaust? did this type of extermination only happen in Auschwitz? How many people died at Auschwitz? Were there many survivors? Why didn't allies bomb Auschwitz?

There is a 'PLEASE DO NOT LITTER' sign and right under that tree you can see litter all over.

Opposites

These are opposites because there is a 'DO NOT LITTER' sign and there is litter right under that same tree.

The Boy In The Striped Pyjamas Statement

It is acceptable to remove a member of a society or group if he or she is thought to be inferior to others.

I disagree with this statement. I think everyone is equal and should be treated the same way as everyone else, we are all one race. The human race. I believe it is foolish and ignorant to segregate your own kind, your own race. Imagine if the world had no contrasts, we wouldn't be where all of us are today. Your religion, appearance, skin color, country shouldn't be a reason for being excluded and removed from a group. As of, the Germans (Nazi's) believed that if you had blue eyes and yellow hair you were superior. What I thought of this statement before has not changed now, I thoroughly disagree with this statement, I think this is wrong and should not be done.

How To Live A 'Good' Life

A good life is basically doing simple things that make you happy. A good life is to nurture the good times and relationships with you family and friends. It's about doing things you love and that you are passionate about. Always try to figure out a solution and not always be in misery, it is also about forgiving people for something that they have done. It is also important to humor yourself, you shouldn't always be working and serious. Keeping healthy and not going overweight is also another way to make yourself happy in life. You should always try to make new friends, friends are one of the most important things in life, they are the ones that make you happy and cheer you up when you're down. Travelling and discovering unknown places is also another way to make yourself happy in life because sometimes you need to get away from home. Always trying to become better at things your passionate about.

The Burning Bridge; Protagonist

The Protagonist in The Burning Bridge is Will. He is a part of the ranger corps, he is the most brave apprentice because he was the one who killed one of the three wargals when Morgarath was trying to take over Araluen again, He had saved halt; his master. Will was the one who had crossed the tunnel to where the Skandians were to see they're battle plan, and no one else would dare to, even his own master. Will is also very smart as he was the one who decided they should burn the bridge, When he came back from the tunnel this was what he said "They have more Skandians coming up the cliffs on the south coast-to join with the Wargals we've already seen. They'll cross the fissure here, where we are, and move north to attack the barons in the rear, while they wait for Morgarath to try to break out of Three Step Pass. I also heard them saying something about Horth and his men marching around Thorntree Forest. That's up here to the north plains of Uthal." Evanlyn grasped the point immediately."Which would bring the Skandians northwest of the King's army. They'd be trapped between the Wargals and Skandians who have crossed the bridge and the other force from the north." Will and Evanlyn exchanged a glance. He could see they'd come at the same conclusion. They both spoke at the same time."Burn the bridge," they said. Will is also a very joyful person to have around you because he can always make you laugh and he can always be serious, he has a good mixture of personalities.

It doesn't say how Wills physical appearance looks but in the 1st book it says how handsome Will is and he has dark brown-ish hair and light skin, he is 12-13 years old and he is very tall for his age.

Journey Book Project

"So you're taking dispatches to King Swyddned of the celts," he said. "I assume you're invoking the mutual defense treaty that Duncan signed with him some years ago?" Gilan nodded, sipping appreciatively at the fragrant coffee. "The King feels we're going to need all the troops we can muster." pg #- 13

This passage means that there is a big war coming up and Gilan needs to make his way to Celtica and find all the troops he can get, this is very important because if Gilan doesn't get the troops for the war against Morgarath his kingdom (Araluen) will fall into the hands of an evil man. Morgarath's army is as powerful as it can get and they have thousands of wargals and 500 troops of Skandians. The only way to survive now is for Gilan to get more troops. The kingdom of Araluen is counting on him, it's they're only chance of survival.

AmericA!!!

The picture to right is a picture of me and my brother with the LAPD!

This summer we planned a holiday to the U.S(United States of America). It was a family holiday, and I was really looking forward to it. It was a dream come true. Before I knew it I was on an 18 hour flight to Los Angeles, California. 18 hours is a really long time but when the plane touched L.A all my exhaustion flew out of the window, and L.A welcomed me with open arms.

In Los Angeles we had a long agenda. We planned to go to Hollywood as soon we landed, but we were so jet lagged that nothing else came in our minds except sleeping. So I planned to go to Hollywood the next day, I couldn't wait the excitement was killing me but right after the thought hit me WOOSH! darkness struck me, I fell asleep. the next day I was on a bus to Beverly Hills to see the mansions or non-mansions of all my favorite stars. Some of the mansions had gates taller than the ceiling of my house! then I was thinking, do I have to come to Hollywood to own a mansion like that? boy, was I worn out now I just aspired to go to Universal Studios.

I was looking at the round silver globe that said "Universal Studios" which made me miss a heartbeat. I cant believe I was standing next to a globe that was shown in almost other movie that I had watched. Entering the Universal Studios was just like entering another world. When I was there the Blues Brothers were in town! they had a spectacular show with lots of singing and dancing, I even got a chance to be on stage with them. There were an innumerable number of rides but my favorite ride was the Jurassic Park ride. When you get inside there is a float that you have to get on there are seat-belts and a silver rod for safety. Since there was a lot of safety measures to be taken, I was guessing that it was a dangerous ride, when the ride went forward there were dinosaurs eating food then suddenly a cop car fell down and there were many dinosaurs fighting with each other. After that, the ride slowly slopes up I start holding the silver rod like its my baby, and every wheel that turns makes my body tickle. Then at the front someone shouts like he's going to die I looked forward and the float was going down AHHHHHHHHHHH!!!! my cheeks were flying in the air and my eyes were tightly shut, SPLASH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

There were many places in L.A to see like Annaham, Taco Bell, Mcdonalds, Los Angeles Disneyland, Sunset Boulevard, Kodak Theatre(which I saw from the outside). There are so many places to go to that I can hardly even name them, 1 trip to L.A is not enough, but I had the time of my life.
